Green West Ireland
Lovely green colors are seen on land and at sea in this view of western Ireland taken by Landsat 8 on March 5, 2022.
Views of the coastline include the outflow of rivers heavy with sediments and dissolved organic matter. Nutrients from these sources help to fuel the growth of phytoplankton whose green pigments bring color to the North Atlantic Ocean.
