After ice break up and in the early stages of green up, Alaska's Yukon Delta sends loads of sediment and dissolved organic matter into the Bering Sea on May 24, 2022. This image was captured by Landsat 9.
This is one section of the Yukon–Kuskokwim Delta, one of the largest deltas in the world. Consisting mainly of tundra, the delta is home to many Alaska Natives who live a traditional subsistence lifestyle of hunting, fishing, and gathering.
