Pacific Northwest
The Pacific Northwest from the point of view of the SeaHawk sensor, acquired on Sep. 6, 2022. Western portions of British Columbia (Canada), Washington and Oregon states (US) are included.
Blue and green colors in Pacific Ocean are caused by outflow from rivers and Puget Sound (near the top of the image). Another process affecting ocean color is coastal upwelling, which supplies nutrients that fuel regional fisheries.
