Bay of Arguin
Upwelling, dust deposition, seagrass beds, and marshes make the Bay Of Arguin a productive marine environment and bird habitat. This Landsat 9 scene was acquired on Nov. 26, 2022.
It is adjacent to Banc d'Arguin National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site that is comprised of sand dunes, coastal swamps, small islands and shallow coastal waters. Located in Mauritania, a country in northwest Africa, the austerity of the desert and the biodiversity of the marine area results in a land and seascape of exceptional contrasting natural value.
