ANNIVERSARY

Celebrating 500 Days in Orbit:

PACE Celebrated 500 days since its launch on June 22, 2025. UMBC hosted an event to acknowlege the moment.

Congratulations to the PACE teams!

PACE OCI V3.1 REPROCESSING
We have completed a full mission reprocessing of the V3 OCI Level-1B products to incorporate a minor correction to the existing collection (see notes), initiated the V3.1 near real time (NRT) processing of all OCI Level-2 and Level-3 products from 2 July 2025 forward, and stopped the V3.0 forward stream processing.

Dr. Emil Cherrington and Kelsey Herndon

Dr. Emil Cherrington and Kelsey Herndon are advancing Mesoamerican conservation by uniting PACE-OCI's hyperspectral, terrestrial surface reflectance information with high spatial resolution vegetation structure data. Learn more about this exciting work here!

Dr. Cherrington, as a Google Developer Expert for Google Earth Engine, has also created a free cloud-based toolkit (requires GEE account), for working with PACE spectral surface reflectance data in GEE. Learn more from his toolkit demonstration ( Slides | Recording) presented during our July PACE Land data Users' Group meeting.

PACE & Friends: Cross-Mission Synergy

How can other NASA Earth observation missions compliment your work with PACE?

MISSION SYNERGY: ICESAT-2

NASA's Ice, Cloud and Land Elevation Satellite-2 (ICESat-2) satellite uses laser altimetry to monitor elevation changes across Earth's surfaces. ICESat-2 also provides bathymetry data. PACE ocean color and ICESat-2 bathymetry data can synergistically create a more complete picture of coastal ecosystems, advancing applications such as post-disaster seafloor change detection, coral reef habitat mapping, water quality monitoring in shallow waters, and more.
