Purple, teal, and pink colors show plankton types (Prochlorococcus, picoeukaryotes, and Synechococcus, respectively) determined using the MOANA algorithm. The true color version was taken by the Ocean Color Instrument (OCI) sensor aboard the PACE satellite on May 16, 2025.
