Technical Resources

The technical resources listed below include key websites for the ocean color science community. The Ocean Optics Web Book is a free online textbook aimed at graduate level audiences. A follow-on publication by Curt Mobley (2022) is available here. A helpful list of publications is maintained by the International Ocean Colour Coordinating Group (IOCCG), an international Committee of experts with representatives from national space agencies as well as the ocean color and inland water user communities. NASA's OceanColor Web is supported by the Ocean Biology Processing Group at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center who collect, process, calibrate, validate, archive and distribute ocean-related products from a large number of operational, satellite-based remote-sensing missions.
