Wave: From Space to Ocean

Wave: From Space to Ocean is an immersive artwork that invites viewers to interact with data from NASA’s PACE satellite through their own physical gestures. A series of 5 interactive projections present data-driven artworks to be explored and manipulated by visitors through where they step and the motions of their hands. The work engages ocean science through the space-borne observations and hyperspectral imaging of the PACE mission, encouraging intuitive exploration of PACE data and imagery. By accessing these connected elements through playful, gestural interaction we hope to foster a larger dialogue about the interdependence of ocean ecosystems and the role humans play in upsetting, or maintaining, their balance.
