The airborne PRISM instrument records light spectra reflected upward from the ocean. Data are used to identify reef compositions.

[02-Jan-16] Mounted in the belly of a Gulfstream IV aircraft, the PRISM instrument records the spectra of light reflected upward from the ocean below. These data will be used to identify reef composition (i.e., coral, algae, and sand) and model primary production.
