North and Baltic Seas
[25-Jun-24] Northern Europe inlcudes two large seas separated by the Scandanavian peninsula: the North Sea to the west and the Baltic Sea to the east. A variety of ocean colors – from bright blues in the North Sea to dark greens in the Baltic Sea – and their patterns reflect differences in depths, circulation patterns, and phytoplankton types. This image was taken by the Ocean Color Instrument (OCI) sensor aboard the PACE satellite on June 25, 2024.
