Grey River Delta & the Rowley Shoals

Grey River Delta & the Rowley Shoals
Phytoplankton communities colored the Indian Ocean between the DeGray River delta and the Rowley Shoals when SeaHawk flew overhead on June 4, 2023.
The Rowley Shoals is a group of three atoll-like coral reefs south of the Timor Sea, about 260 km (160 mi) west of Broome, Australia. These shoals lie on the edge of one of the widest continental shelves in the world, rising steeply from the surrounding ocean floor.
