Potential Applications Advancing state-level decision support tools

Description

Since 2016, Georgia EPD has written detailed reports for every exceedance of the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS). These reports include discussions on meteorology, emissions (e.g., satellite detected fires), smoke plume movements (e.g., GOES-19 GeoColor images), and air quality (e.g., TEMPO and TROPOMI NO2 VCDs).

Significance

A collection of Exceedance Reports will be the foundation of Georgia EPD’s control strategy development for State Implementation Plans.

Why PACE

Georgia EPD anticipates that the high-resolution PACE NO2 products will add more value to the future exceedance reports.
