To assess the value of PACE aerosol products in air quality forecasting, we assimilate PACE AOD retrievals into the Model Prediction Across Scales model coupled with the Goddard Chemistry Aerosol Radiation and Transport (MPAS-GOCART), the NSF NCAR's next-generation multi-scale atmosphere-chemistry global to regional online-coupled modeling system, through the Joint Effort for Data assimilation for Integration (JEDI) system. We then generate a new community air quality cycling system based on MPAS-GOCART-JEDI that includes PACE products for decision-making in operational air quality forecasting over Northern India through our collaborative efforts with the local stakeholders at the Indian Institute for Tropical Meteorology (IITM).
